Discipline Policy

When you receive a red card (or a 3rd or 5th yellow card) of the season the Ontario Soccer discipline process will be followed by the Polar Bear Indoor Soccer League and is described below

You have two choices available to you

    1. Request a discipline hearing (DBH)

    2. Accept a suspension from the Polar Bear Indoor Socce League

Discipline by hearing (DBH)

If you wish to request a hearing then you must do so within 48 hours of the game by sending a written request for a Discipline By Hearing process to the Polar Bear Indoor League Administrator.

If your request is successful then the Polar Bear Indoor League will notify you that you can continue playing until you have a hearing.  Your hearing will be scheduled within 14 days. You must attend your hearing. You can not attend via conference call. At the hearing a panel will carry out a DBH as described by the Ontario Soccer Association. Following the hearing the Polar Bear Indoor League will notify you of the outcome via email and will indicate your suspension and fine if applicable. We will also indicate your rights of appeal.

Discipline by review (DBR)

If you decide to accept a suspension then the Polar Bear Indoor League will perform a Discipline by Review. In this scenario the Polar Bear Indoor League Discipline Committee will issue you with a suspension as defined by the OSA Discipline Procedures.

Your team manager will be informed of your suspension and fine by email. You can not appeal a decision made by the DBR process. You do not need to appear at a DBR meeting.

The Polar Bear Indoor League Discipline Committee retain the right to request that you attend a DBH meeting if they believe that the offense is serious

Jurisdiction
The Polar Bear Indoor League does not have jurisdiction over the more serious discipline offenses, e.g. swearing at a game official, game official assault etc. These cases will be forwarded to the EODSA for a DBH or DBR.
